The aim of this programme is to equip students with extended experiential learning and industry exposure to enhance their employment readiness, prospects and to boost their competitiveness in a large pool of graduates from Singapore and beyond.

Prospective students who are interested in the Work Study Degree Programme (WSDeg) will have to be enrolled in the participating degree programme (Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Business or a Double Degree in Accountancy and Business) first, followed by applying for the WSDeg in their 1st/2nd year.

For Business students (both Single and Double Degree programmes), they will have to be streamed into the respective specialisation before they are invited to apply for the WSDeg. They will then go through selection process with the internship companies. Confirmation of a place in WSDeg is subjected to final placement offered by the internship companies.

Our bachelor’s degree programmes are full-time programmes and students who were successfully selected into WSDeg will have to complete mandatory internships totalling of 35 weeks on top of the academic requirements for the programme.

 

Double Degree in Accountancy & Business (Business Analytics)

A comprehensive and well-rounded curriculum that taps on our world-class Accountancy and Business degree programmes will equip you with multiple skill sets and knowledge to meet the challenges of the new economy and open up more career options. You will receive two degrees at the end of the programme, which you can expect to complete in 3½ to 4 years. This specialisation equips participants with the business and analytical skills to investigate data for developing innovating business insights and solutions. The business analytics (BA) curriculum is designed to prepare our Bachelor of Business (BA) graduates for impactful careers in the area of business analytics consulting.

The internship will take place in 1 of the semester as well as the holiday period (Summer/Winter break). The double degree students will undergo the WSDeg in either year 3 Sem 2 or year 4 Sem 1. There are multiple internship opportunities in companies including Anglo American, CIMB, Ascott and SAP.

Students will earn academic credits from the internship. During the internship, the students will be attached to a faculty supervisor and a company supervisor. For the other semesters, students on WSDeg will be reading courses in school.

Double Degree in Accountancy & Business (Banking and Finance – Applied Wealth Management)

A comprehensive and well-rounded curriculum that taps on our world-class Accountancy and Business degree programmes will equip you with multiple skill sets and knowledge to meet the challenges of the new economy and open up more career options. You will receive two degrees at the end of the programme, which you can expect to complete in 3½ to 4 years. The first of its kind at undergraduate level in Singapore, AWM specialisation aims to equip graduates with applied and academic competencies, including regulatory certifications and digital skill sets to become job-ready wealth management professionals. The specialisation allows the AWM students to meet their required academic units through a combination of work at DBS Bank and study at NBS.

Successful selected students will receive a conditional letter of offer from DBS. Graduates from this AWM track will join DBS as a Wealth Planning Manager.

The internship will take place in 1 of the semester as well as the holiday period (Summer/Winter break). The double degree students will undergo the WSDeg in either year 3 Sem 2 or year 4 Sem 1. There are multiple internship opportunities in DBS Bank.

The wealth management industry, especially in Asia, has been rapidly growing in the past decade. This growth has fuelled a sharp demand for talents – both fresh & veteran, in the banking and finance sector, so that the expanding industry can sustain its growth and meet the changing needs of an increasingly sophisticated global clientele. Singapore, being a highly reputable financial hub, is best positioned to become the wealth management hub of the region. In order for her to ride on the momentum, Singapore must groom a sizeable & high quality pool of wealth managers that can become trusted advisors for global clients. This creates many hiring opportunities within the industry, and financial institutions are looking to attract and groom talents as early as when they commence on their tertiary education.​
