Three Nanyang Business School (NBS) faculty members were conferred the prestigious Nanyang Education Awards at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) State of University Address 2019.
In recognition of their significant achievements and contribution to NBS and the university,
• Assoc Prof Elison Lim, Division of Marketing, was awarded the Nanyang Education Award (College);
• Assoc Prof (Practice) Lee Kin Wai, Division of Accounting, awarded the Nanyang Education Award (School); and
• Assoc Prof Wu Yuan, Division of Banking and Finance, was awarded the Nanyang Education Award (School).
The Nanyang Education Award is the highest honour conferred by the University to faculty members in the field of teaching. It recognises the dedication and achievements of faculty members who display excellent teaching practices and enrich the learning experiences of NTU undergraduates and National Institute of Education's Trainee Teachers. These award recipients inspire students through their deep passion to teach well and their genuine concern for their students' learning.
“My teaching work gives me tremendous joy and satisfaction. Being able to connect with students, shape their thinking, and learn alongside them, is a real privilege for me,” shared Assoc Prof Elison Lim.
“Learning is a continuous journey to achieve personal growth. Action, dedication and perseverance are the pathways to success. When teaching my students, I have also adopted this philosophy,” said Assoc Prof Lee Kin Wai.
“I believe in three things - (1) love and be good at what you teach, (2) be an exemplar and (3) deliver complex ideas with simple words,” shared Assoc Prof Wu Yuan.
