The Financial Times ranked the Nanyang MBA programme at 24 among the top 100 full-time MBA programmes worldwide in January 2009. It is the first time a Singapore University’s business programme has been ranked in the top 25 in the world.

The Nanyang MBA has also been consistently ranked as one of the Top 100 MBA programmes in the world by The Economist (EIU 2004-2009).  Since 2004, the Nanyang MBA has been ranked first in Singapore, 2nd in Asia and 3rd in Asia-Pacific.

Nanyang Business School was conferred the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International accreditation in both business and accounting since 2005.

AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools, worldwide. Institutions that earn accreditation confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through a rigorous and comprehensive peer review. AACSB International accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in management education.  It assures quality and promotes excellence and continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate education for business education and accounting.

AACSB International accreditation assures stakeholders that business schools:

  • Manage resources to achieve a vibrant and relevant mission.
  • Advance business and management knowledge through faculty scholarship.
  • Provide high-caliber teaching of quality and current curricula.
  • Cultivate meaningful interaction between students and a qualified faculty.
  • Produce graduates who have achieved specified learning goals.

For the AACSB in accounting accreditation, NBS is only one of five outside of the United States to have achieved it.

European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS)

Nanyang Business School was conferred Full EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) Accreditation by the EQUIS Awarding Body in 2004. This full accreditation is awarded only to institutions that, in the Awarding Body’s judgement, meet all the EQUIS quality standards. Nanyang Business School will be the only business school in Singapore and the fifth in Asia to have this accreditation. The full accreditation is awarded for a five-year period.

EQUIS, the quality assurance scheme run by the European Foundation for Management Development (efmd), is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. Its objective is to raise the standard of management education. Since the launch of the scheme in 1997, it has accredited 73 institutions in European countries as well as countries outside Europe, such as Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States.

To achieve accreditation, Nanyang Business School has demonstrated that it satisfies quality criteria in three equally important areas:

  • high international standards of quality in all of the areas defined in the EQUIS model - mission and governance, student and programme quality, faculty and research, corporate and international connections and management of resources;
  • a significant level of internationalisation as defined within the EQUIS model; and
  • a strong corporate orientation in programmes, activities and processes.
